3d cabinet
In 1996 Jamie was commissioned to create a photograph as a gift. After exploring ways to create and view 3D photographs, he decided to create a full size 3D viewer that unfolded for the client. The images would be printed full size and the wall mounted system would unfold with an area to support candles. The candles flicker would illuminate the photo’s adding to the 3D effect. Jamie wanted to create an immersive experience for the viewer as they opened the 3D cabinet, pulled down the viewing system and lit the candles. The images themselves appear to float directly in front of the viewer. Jamie continues to create his 3D cabinets for special clients.
Above is a peek at one of the builds and some of Jamie’s sketches.
